About Me

I’m Chirag Choudhary, a final-year B.Tech student at IIT Guwahati, passionate about building scalable products at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence. My technical expertise spans full-stack web development (MERN, Next.js, Socket.IO), data science & machine learning (Python, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and cloud-native development, which I’ve applied in projects like ZCoder (a collaborative coding platform with AI integration), Wanderlust (a P2P booking platform with ML-powered pricing), and data-driven dashboards.

Beyond coding, I had the privilege of leading as Convenor of Spirit’24, managing a 350+ member team for Northeast India’s largest sports festival. This experience sharpened my skills in leadership, product management, and scaling real-world systems.

My Experience

AI & Data Engineer Intern at Royale Growth

During my internship at RG, a global remittance and financial services company, I worked at the intersection of AI, data engineering, and backend development to create intelligent, data-driven solutions. My focus was on building scalable data pipelines and machine learning models to analyze high-volume transaction data, predict trends, and detect anomalies, using tools like Python, Pandas, AWS, XGBoost, and Neural Networks.

As part of a cross-functional team, I helped deploy production-ready APIs using Node.js, Redis, and MySQL, enabling real-time access to financial insights. By optimizing backend queries and implementing caching, we reduced API response times by 35%, improving the platform’s overall performance and user experience. This experience strengthened my expertise in AI integration, cloud technologies, and collaborative software development, while deepening my understanding of how data can power innovation in fintech.

Backend Engineer at Indrav

At Indrav, a healthcare technology company, I contributed to building and optimizing backend systems powering 10,000+ daily patient records and data transactions. My role involved developing and testing 30+ scalable CRUD APIs using the MERN stack, integrated with MySQL, Cassandra, and Redis, ensuring secure and efficient handling of sensitive healthcare data.

I focused on performance optimization and system reliability, debugging critical issues, refining database queries, and implementing caching strategies. These improvements reduced average API response time by 35% (from 650ms to 420ms) and enhanced data retrieval speed by 40%, resulting in a significantly smoother experience for healthcare professionals across 5+ connected systems. This internship deepened my skills in backend architecture, database scaling, and high-performance system design, while reinforcing the importance of security and reliability in healthcare applications.
